Mozilla firefox GUI Reloaded

Firefox designers have removed its status bar, that is sure to come out in its next beta of firefox 4. On the way of keeping the browser slimmer and minimal so that user can concentrate well on website it has removed its status bar which was really not needed, instead it ate some screen space. Now firefox has a single slimmer frame at the top, with tabs at the top for a very graceful look. Menu is combined into one button and all the necessary menu items are are made available into a double sided menu drop down list.

Now talking about how you would see a web page loading, the progress bar is put on the frame at top. When you have a focused tab the progress bar would be shown below the address bar just like this.

In case of out of focus tab the progress bar would be shown just below the tab in the tab bar.

Unlike google chrome and IE9 the progress bar is still a part of firefox. A user wants to see if the page is loading or its not, its the era of broadband though. It takes a bit of time to load a page through faster net speed and javascript engines, also hardware acceleration plays an important role in loading of pages. whether a progress bar is needed or not totally depends on what a user thinks.

Status bar had a very useful function. when a user kept his mouse over a link, status bar would display the address of the link. For now when status bar is gone how would a user see the mouse over links. No its not gone at all now you would see the mouse over links in the address bar itself besides the address of the site like

That’s all about how the firefox will look like when it comes to stable coz its the pre release of firefox 4 beta 8 (yes beta 7 is not the last beta beta 8 would come out too, due to some reasons release of firefox 4 has been delayed) and which is said to be the code freeze beta, after which no features will be added the engineers would then be busy to fix all the bugs and release the stable version. the pre release can be downloaded from here.
